Quad Racing
Quad Racing has become very popular over
the last three or four years. We started our Quad Racing in 1996 and have
catered for hundreds of groups and companies on our 1/3 mile track. Quad Racing
is especially popular with Stag and Hen parties and is typically combined with
paintball for the ultimate in action packed days.
The Quads
We use the fantastic Yamaha Breeze quad bikes.
They are 125cc so are powerful enough for the heaviest of riders. The Quads are
also automatic which means there are no gears to worry about. You just press the
thumb throttle and go. By the way, you pull the brakes to stop. The Yamaha
Breeze is a surprisingly stable bike and with only 4psi in the tyre's you also
get quite a smooth ride.
The Track
Our purpose built track stretches for over 1/3
of a mile with shaped corners rising to 6 feet on some bends. The track suits
all levels of experience from beginners who have never ridden a quad before,
some haven't even passed their driving test, to the seasoned quad racer. The
stone track means that even in the winter, you will not get very dirty (shame).
Race Format
We have a unique race format which is both safe
and exciting. Groups are split into teams of around 3 to 5. Each team is then
given team coloured body armour and helmets. The first rider from each team gets
onto a bike. When the race starts, the first rider from the first team starts.
When the first rider gets to the first flag station, the second team rider can
set off. The idea is to catch the rider in front. If you do manage to catch the
rider in front you receive a 1 minute deduction from your overall time and the
rider you caught has one added on. When you complete one circuit, your time
stops and you change riders. The team with the fastest combined time at the end
of the race are the winners.
Combo Days
Most of our quad events are part of a combination day of Paintball and Quads.
These combination days are a particular favourite of Stag and Hen parties from
all over the UK.
At 40mph you have no friends!!
