Our Story: Where It All Began

In 1988, we launched the Yorkshire Paintball Centre in Hillam, North Yorkshire—one of only three paintball centres in the UK at the time. We found our permanent home in a stunning 100-acre woodland in Escrick, near York, just nine months later. From humble beginnings to becoming a top-tier destination for outdoor fun, our journey has been fueled by a love of adventure and a passion for bringing people together.

A History of Milestones

We’ve been at the forefront of outdoor activities for decades. In 1992, we hosted the legendary War of the Roses paintball game with over 360 players—a UK record that stood strong for 20 years. In 2006, we unveiled the world’s largest paintball bridge, an epic 300-foot-long structure that’s become our park’s iconic centrepiece.

But we didn’t stop there. Over the years, we’ve continuously expanded our offerings, introducing modern paintball equipment, building Yorkshire’s first-ever axe-throwing range, and adding a variety of activities to suit adventurers of all ages.

Our owner, Andy Hollywood, has been living and breathing paintball since 1988. From competing in the world’s largest paintball game in Moscow, which had over 8,000 players, to shaping Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park into what it is today, Andy’s passion drives everything we do.
