What to Expect from Gelball Games?

Gelball at Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park is a fantastic new event for children of 8 years + (School Year 3). This is a great day out for birthdays and get-togethers. In this instructor-led session, you will participate in various objective or elimination-based Gel Ball games in the woodland. The ammunition that is used in this game is incredibly safe. It has the consistency of Jelly. It is perfect for children who are not quite old enough to play Paintball because it does not hurt or sting when you are hit with a Gelball; however, it is just as exciting and fun!

What is Included in the Gelball Package?

The £20 per participant includes entry to Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park and all equipment needed to play the game including:

Fully Automatic Gelball Pistol
2400 Rounds of Ammo per player.
Paintball Goggles
Camouflage Coverall

How do the Gelball games work?

Players engage in team-based games, like paintball or airsoft, where they shoot each other with the gel balls. The guns used in gelball are usually electric-powered and shoot the gel balls at velocities that are safe for recreational play. After the full safety briefing, each player is issued a Camouflage Coverall, a pair of Paintball Goggles, and the all-important Gelball Pistol. Then, it’s out into the woods for your Gelball event! In each 90-minute session, your group will play three games. Each participant will be given 800 rounds of ammo per game. They will never run out.

5 Tips for winning at Gelball

Stay hydrated: Gelball can be physically demanding, so it’s essential to stay hydrated. Bring plenty of water or a sports drink to ensure you stay hydrated throughout the game.

Use cover: Like in other team-based shooting games, it’s essential to avoid getting hit. Stay behind cover as much as possible and move strategically to avoid being seen.

Communicate with your team: Communication is vital in team-based games like gelball. Make sure you have a way to communicate with your team, either through walkie-talkies or a team chat app, and keep your team informed about enemy positions and your movements.

Aim for the body: Aim for the biggest target, so aim for the body rather than trying for headshots or other difficult shots. Focus on hitting your opponent’s torso or legs to increase your chances of hitting them.

Play fair and respect others: Gelball is a fun and social activity, but it’s important to play fair and respect your fellow players. Follow the game’s rules, don’t cheat or engage in unsportsmanlike behaviour and always treat others respectfully.

Arrival Time

Everyone must arrive at around 15 – 30 minutes before the start time. You must be present for the safety briefing because if this is missed, you will not be allowed to participate on the day. Additionally, being on time means we can start on time, and all games will be full-length.

We hire out themed party rooms for only £20 so you are welcome to bring your own party food and cake.

Q. What are the age limitations for Gel Ball?

Q. Will I need to buy more ammo?
A. No. Each participant is given 2400 rounds of ammo.

Q. Does Gelball hurt?
A. No. The water based pellets are soft, fragile and break easily when they make contact with anything.

Q. What should players wear?
A. Water based pellets do not stain clothing, however, old & comfortable clothes are always best because the event takes place in the woods.

Q. Can we have a party afterwards?
A. Absolutely! We have five zombie themed function rooms that can be hired for only £20. You are welcome to bring your own food.
