Why Buyers Choose It
- PoE support means the unit can be installed outdoors where a power outlet is not available, as stated.
- 2 Gigabit ports give you wired connection options alongside wireless use.
- The listed Router/AP and Mesh-related modes provide more than one setup route, depending on the network you are building.
- The included mounting and cabling items make the box contents clearer before purchase.
How It Works
- Connect the access point using the supplied Ethernet cabling.
- Use the PoE setup if you want power and data carried over a single Ethernet RJ-45 cable.
- Select the operating mode that matches your network requirement, such as Router or AP.
- Use the included mounting items if you are fitting it in an outdoor position.
The listing also notes that the PoE converter is not waterproof, so it needs to be kept in mind during installation.
Real World Use
In practical terms, this is an outdoor network device for spaces where a standard indoor access point is not the right fit. The weatherproof case, PoE support and outdoor focus make it easier to plan installation around the available cabling and mounting position.
The stated temperature range of -30°C to 70°C gives a sense of the conditions the unit is described for, but the exact suitability still depends on the full installation environment and your own setup checks.
What To Know Before You Buy
Check that you want an outdoor access point rather than a different kind of networking device. Confirm whether Router, AP or another listed mode matches your intended setup, and make sure the cabling route works with PoE if you plan to use it.
Review the included items before ordering if you need the adapter, PoE converter, holder, ties or fitting kit. The PoE converter is stated as not waterproof, so factor that into your installation plan.
Pros: PoE support and the weatherproof outdoor design give you installation options where mains power is not nearby.
Cons: The PoE converter is stated as not waterproof, so it needs separate installation consideration.
