What to Compare Before Buying
- Tool set contents: This kit includes pliers, scissors and a lanyard. Check that this is the configuration you want rather than a single tool.
- Pliers size: The pliers are stated as 8 inch. Compare that with the size you prefer for handling and carrying.
- Line cutting needs: The kit is described for braided line and also for fluorocarbon, mono, PE, thick nylon and stiff thread. Check whether those are the line types you plan to cut.
- Carry method: The lanyard is included, so think about where you want to keep the tools when fishing.
Using It in Practice
The pliers and scissors are intended for common fishing tasks such as cutting line and handling tackle. The lanyard gives you a simple way to keep the tools attached while you move around, which is useful if you want to keep them close at hand between casts.
Before You Decide
Check that you want the pliers-and-scissors combination rather than a single tool. Confirm the 8 inch pliers size suits your hand and tackle bag, and make sure the included lanyard is part of the version you want.
