Prepare for a fantastic day filled with fun, excitement, and paint. Paintball fun days out are the perfect way to get your adrenaline pumping and make unforgettable memories with your friends and family. In this blog post, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know about paintball, from what to wear to how to stay safe. So, let’s dive in and start planning your action-packed day!
What is Paintball?
Paintball is a thrilling game where players shoot small, round capsules filled with coloured water-soluble dye at each other. These capsules, called paintballs, burst upon impact, leaving a colourful splat on the target. The goal of the game is to eliminate opponents by hitting them with paintballs or to complete objectives, like capturing a flag.
Players usually divide into two teams and play on a field full of bunkers, barriers, and other obstacles. The game is super exciting and can be played by people of all ages – from kids as young as ten years old to grown-ups who are kids at heart!
Gearing Up for Battle
When you’re heading out for a paintball adventure, it’s important to dress appropriately. Here’s a list of what you should wear:
Long-sleeved shirt and trousers:
It’s best to wear clothes that cover your skin to protect you from the paintball’s impact. Dark colours or camouflage patterns are great choices; they’ll help you blend in with the surroundings. Don’t worry, though. We also provide you with camo coveralls.
Comfortable shoes
Choose sturdy, supportive shoes with good grip, like trainers or walking boots. Avoid open-toed shoes or sandals, as they won’t protect your feet.
Gloves
A pair of gloves will protect your hands from paint splatters and make it easier to grip your paintball gun. Gloves are available on the day.
Layers
It’s best to wear layers of clothing, so if you get too hot or too cold, you can add or remove layers.
Don’t worry about safety gear, like masks and chest protectors – we provide these for you.
Safety First!
Paintball is a fun game, but staying safe while playing is important. Here are some tips to help you enjoy your day without any accidents:
Always wear your mask
Your mask is there to protect your eyes and face from paintballs. Never remove it while on the field, even if your goggles fog up. If you need to clean your mask or adjust it, let a staff member know, and they’ll help you in a safe area.
Follow the rules
Pay attention during the safety briefing and follow all the rules given by the paintball centre staff. They’re there to keep you and your teammates safe.
Be mindful of your surroundings.
Watch out for obstacles and other players on the field. Don’t climb on structures or run into anyone, which could cause injuries.
Don’t shoot too close.
Paintballs can hurt if they hit your skin at close range, so avoid shooting at opponents who are closer than 5 metres away.
Paintball Game Types
There are loads of exciting paintball game types to choose from. Here are some popular ones you might play during your day out:
Capture the Flag
In this classic game, each team has a flag at their base. The goal is to grab the other team’s flag and bring it back to your base without getting hit by paintballs. We play this game on the Worlds Biggest Paintball Bridge.
Team Elimination
The aim of this game is to eliminate all the players on the other team by hitting them with paintballs. The last team standing wins!
Attack and Defend
One team defends a base or a specific area, while the other team tries to capture it. The defending team wins if they can hold their position for a set amount of time, while the attacking team wins if they can take over the area.
King of the Hill
In this game, there’s a central hill or area that both teams try to capture and control. The team that holds the hill for the longest time wins.
Zombies vs. Humans
This exciting game starts with one or two players as “zombies,” while the rest are “humans.” When a zombie hits a human with a paintball, the human becomes a zombie too! The game ends when all the humans have been turned into zombies or when the humans survive for a set amount of time.
Tips for Paintball Success
Ready to become a paintball pro? Here are some top tips to help you and your team succeed:
Communicate
Talk to your teammates and share information about where opponents are and what’s happening on the field. Good communication can make all the difference in winning a game.
Be stealthy
Move quietly and use the terrain to your advantage. Stay low, stick to cover, and keep an eye on your surroundings.
Stay mobile
Don’t stay in one spot too long, or you might become an easy target. Keep moving and change positions to stay unpredictable.
Conserve ammo
Paintballs can run out quickly, so be mindful of how many shots you’re taking. Aim carefully and only shoot when you have a clear target.
Have fun
Remember, paintball is about having a great time with friends and family. Don’t worry too much about winning or losing – just enjoy the experience!
