- Charging method: Rapid charge via DTC and USB is a useful check if you want a radio that matches your existing charging setup.
- Range: The stated 38 mile range gives a reference point, but buyers should compare it with the distance they need to cover.
- Weather alert function: W/X Scan-Alert is worth checking if weather updates are part of the decision.
Using It in Practice
This radio is set up around portable voice communication with added privacy-code and weather-alert features. The included battery and charging options make it easier to keep ready between uses, while the alkaline battery support gives an alternative when recharging is not practical.
If you plan to use it away from mains power, think about how you will keep the battery charged and whether the stated range matches your expected environment. Open ground and short distances usually give a better result than obstructed areas, so the real-world setting matters when comparing offers.
Before You Decide
Check that you want a 36-channel Midland two way radio with 121 codes, W/X Scan-Alert and the stated 38 mile range. Confirm the charging setup suits you, and make sure the included battery and USB charging arrangement match how you plan to use it.
