Who It Is Best For

What To Know Before You Buy
The f2.5 aperture gives a useful balance of light gathering and background blur, but it is not the same as a faster prime if you want the shallowest depth of field. It is designed for Sony E mount full frame cameras, so it is sensible to check your selected camera body before ordering.
Pros: Lightweight, portable and autofocus equipped, with a natural 40mm view that works across several common shooting situations.
Cons: If you want the most extreme background separation, this f2.5 lens may feel less dramatic than a faster option.
