Participant Declaration and Assumption of Risk

Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park takes the health and safety of all participants seriously. Paintball is an outdoor physical activity and, like all adventure and leisure activities, it involves inherent risks.
Participation may involve running, physical exertion, uneven woodland terrain, and contact with paintballs and equipment. Despite all reasonable safety measures being in place, there remains a risk of injury.
It is important that all participants understand these risks and take personal responsibility for acting safely, following instructions, and complying with all venue rules throughout their visit.

I understand that:

1. Paintball is a physically and mentally demanding activity and may involve significant exertion.

2. There is a risk of injury to myself and to other participants.

3. The playing area is a natural woodland environment with uneven ground, slippery surfaces, and potential trip hazards.

4. There is a possibility of slipping, falling, and contact with fallen branches or natural debris.

5. Protective goggles must be worn at all times within the playing areas and must only be removed in designated safe areas.

6. The impact of paintballs may, in some circumstances, cause bruising or minor cuts to the skin.

7. Markers (paintball guns) are not permitted in the safe area at any time.

8. Physical contact between participants is strictly prohibited.

9. Vehicles are parked in the car park at the owner’s own risk.

10. Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings brought on site.

11. At certain times of the year, wasps, insects, or other wildlife may be present in both playing and safe areas.

12. Food provided or consumed on site may contain nuts or other allergens.

13. Paintballs may seep through the provided coveralls and mark clothing worn underneath.

14. Any body armour provided is intended as an additional protective layer and does not guarantee the prevention of bruising or injury.

15. Anyone who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused participation and excluded from the activity without entitlement to a refund.

I confirm and agree that:

1. I am physically fit and mentally capable of taking part in paintball activities.

2. I have no medical condition that would make it unsafe for me to participate, and I will inform the game manager of any relevant medical needs, including the use of inhalers or medical aids.

3. I understand the risks involved and will not deliberately aim or shoot at another participant’s face, head, or neck.

4. I will wear the required protective goggles at all times while in the playing areas.

5. I will follow all venue rules and use equipment only as instructed to avoid injury to myself or others.

6. I will comply with all instructions given by event managers and staff at all times.

7. I will not fire a marker at another participant from a distance of less than 20 feet.

8. I will settle any charges incurred before leaving the site.

9. I will only use paintballs supplied by Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park during my event.

10. If I have any food allergies, I confirm that I have checked the allergen information provided and accept responsibility for managing my condition.

11. I confirm that I am aged 12 or over (or in School Year 7).

12. I understand that failure to comply with these rules may result in my exclusion from the activity without entitlement to a refund.

Final confirmation

I confirm that I have read and understood this agreement. I understand that paintball is a physical activity involving inherent risks, and I voluntarily agree to take part.
I confirm that I will listen to and follow the safety briefing provided before the activity begins and will comply with all safety instructions given by staff.
I confirm that I am legally competent to sign this document.
